Solid-State Batteries: Suitable for Automotive?

Solid-state batteries are being lauded for their potential to improve the performance of electric vehicles. However, many challenges remain before this technology can be made widely available to the automotive industry.

One of the major hurdles is to develop a stable chemical interface between the electrolyte and the electrodes. In addition, there are challenges in effective characterization, sustainable manufacturing processes and recyclable design.

Although solid-state batteries are promising, it remains unclear when they will be commercially available for automotive applications. At Power Battery, we have chosen not to offer solid-state batteries yet. Our focus is on delivering reliable and safe products to our customers. However, we are closely monitoring developments and keeping our customers informed of new trends.

Soon we will share our vision on the future of electrification, in which solid-state technology plays an important role. Stay tuned for more updates!
